Prayer: Fresh Joy for Today

Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

DEAR FATHER in Heaven, I recognize that You are the source of all joy. You have saved me and called me Your own. In Your great love, You JOY over me:

Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV)
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will REJOICE over thee with JOY;
He will rest in His love, He will *JOY over thee with singing.

[* “Joy” in this verse is the Hebrew word “giyl,” which means: “to jump up and down, and spin around with violent emotion.” This Scripture tells us that our Heavenly Father is dancing and singing in His loving joy over us! Hallelujah!]

Just to see my Heavenly Father’s joy over me fills my soul with assurance, security, and strength:

Nehemiah 8:10
…do not sorrow, for the JOY of the Lord is your strength.

FATHER, I behold Your “great manner of love” for me on the Cross of Calvary, where You gave Your Son, Jesus, in my place on that Cross. You made a way for me to be adopted and born into Your family (John 1:12-13). I am forever grateful!

1 John 3:1
Behold WHAT MANNER OF LOVE  the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God…

DEAR LORD JESUS, thank You for Your JOY over us – the joy You set before You when You went all the way to Calvary to die on the Cross for me:

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the JOY that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame…

Because of the Cross, Jesus, You have provided full forgiveness for all my sins. Your Blood has cleansed, redeemed, and wonderfully saved me. And forever, I will rejoice that my name is written in Heaven in the Book of Life:

Luke 10:20
…but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

You have caused me to be born again and made me a co-heir with You in the Father’s house! I sing and rejoice all day long in the JOY of this great salvation:

Habakkuk 3:18
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Psalm 40:16; Psalm 70:4
…let such as love Your salvation say continually,
“The Lord be magnified!”

DEAR HOLY SPIRIT, thank You for coming to dwell within me through the Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49; Juan 7:37-39; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:1-4). In Your jealous love, You are working within me “both to will and to do for His pleasure” (Phil 2:13) as You transform me “from glory to glory” to be like Jesus (2 Cor 3:18), producing the Fruit of the Spirit in my life:

James 4:5-6 (TPT)
…the Spirit that God breathed into our hearts is a jealous Lover who intensely desires to have more and more of us – But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us…
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Romans 14:17
For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and JOY in the Holy Spirit.

DEAR FATHER, I admit that it often feels difficult to remain joyful when life gets busy and filled with anxieties, complexities, and troubles. But right now, I choose to believe Your Word which promises me that, at the very moment in which my anxieties are multiplied, Your comforts will fill me with renewed hope, encouragement, and fresh joy:

Psalm 94:19
In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.

So, right now, I choose to rejoice. I lift my hands and sing for joy because You are enveloping me with Your many comforts and filling me with delight. Without a single doubt, there is fullness of joy in Your presence!

JESUS, because of Your finished work of redemption on the Cross, I not only have joy now, but I also have the incredible hope of experiencing the joy and pleasures of Your presence forever throughout all of eternity in Heaven. Hallelujah!

Psalm 16:11
…In Your presence is fullness of JOY;
At Your right hand are pleasures FOREVERMORE.
Jude 1:24
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with EXCEEDING JOY.

You are always worthy of all glory, honor, and power—so no matter what I face, I will choose to worship You and live in Your presence, enjoying the pleasures of the fullness of Your joy!  And I will believe You, love You, and rejoice in You with “JOY UNSPEAKABLE and full of glory” –

1 Peter 1:8 (KJV)
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with JOY unspeakable and full of glory.

Thank You for FRESH JOY for today!
In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.
