That Which Concerneth Me…

(Part 3 of 3) “Forsake not the works of thine own hands.” (Psalm 138:8c) Finally, with an ever-deepening understanding of just how wayward he (and all mankind) can be, he begs God not to give up the work work He started in spite any of his spoiled cryings, whinings at God’s hand of correction and discipline. “Spare not Thy rod for all my crying, O Lord!” (Prov. 19:18) Jeremiah makes a similar plea before God: “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. O Lord, correct me…” (Jer. 10:22-23).
