Early last week, in my daily reading of Acts (the NIV version), I came across this passage:
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth…and He determined the times set for them and the EXACT PLACES where they should live… God did this SO that men would seek Him…” (Acts 17:24-27 NIV).
Just last month on April 19, 2011, our family moved into a beautiful and spacious home that precious pastor-friends (Wayne & Sherine Pratt) had offered to rent to us. It was an offer that we almost passed up because we just assumed it was too good to be true. Even today, several weeks later, my wife and I just look at each other and shake our heads in amazement at these unbelievable changes that God has orchestrated.
So last week, when I read these words, “the EXACT PLACES where they should live”, I had to run and show it to my wife, Marietta, right away. It was as if the Lord was just shouting out to us – “I did this!” And, reading on, the reason is definitely clear: so that the Slentz family should “seek Him”!
Our family has been extremely blessed and, at the same time, greatly humbled by this recent event of God’s shower of goodness upon our lives. We are truly full of gratitude toward the Lord and toward the precious friends that the Lord has brought into our lives! It is our prayer that “seeking God” would continue to grow as a fervent passion in our family from the oldest to the very youngest of us (even little Lydia Grace)!
