This “1-Acts-a-Day” challenge (28 chapters, one chapter per day each month) continues into month #2! The Book of Acts is all about moving with God, staying in step with Him in every situation by allowing the Holy Spirit to lead, prompt, and direct. What a challenge! A challenge first of all, simply because of all my human stubborness and self-confidence. That stuff just needs to go! But being led by the Spirit is also a challenge because the Holy Spirit guides so gently: “a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12-13). So gently, in fact, that it is all too easy to pass it all off as a mere random thought or feeling. In Esther, it was the “suggestions” (Esther 2:15 – New International Version) of Hegai that brought Esther into relationship with the King that changed her and an entire nation! Holy Spirit, deal with me! Work in me! Let me be attentive today to that still small voice.
